For my Sweetheart
This project was designed by Markus Olafen of Austria.
“This is a personal project I realised for my girlfriends birthday. It is a magnetic dress-up puppet, made out of printable magnetic foil and cardboard. For the packaging I tried to use materials with a natural feeling to create a handmade-touch. As an inspiration I thought back to primary school when we made small cardboard puppets that...

Stylish Bathroom Signs
Even bathroom signs can be beautiful. These were produced for Sevruga Restaurant by Malossol. Hand drawn illustrations were converted into vectors for vinyl decals which were then placed onto frosted glass for an elegant, but interesting finish.

Vedett
Vedett is a Belgium beer which encourages you to become a part of the picture. The labels themselves are cool in a communist design sort of way, but on the back, you can submit your own photo online and possibly be featured on 1000 bottles. Sounds like fun, why not become part of “the cult of Belgium”?

Stunning Sugar Sachets
A first place winner in The Dieline Awards 2011, these sugar sachets are beautifully designed and presented. Mouse Graphics from Greece says they wanted to see if they could create sugar bags that would actually be used as decor items, and I think they’ve succeeded.
“This work is a conscious attempt to literally interpret the pack content: ‘One spoonful of sugar’ -...

Pronto Identity
“Pronto is a chain of Italian restaurants based in Moscow. The logo refers to Roman mythology, Mercury’s winged hat which supports the meaning of restaurant’s name. At the same time, illustrations help to convey the peaceful and prepossessing atmosphere of the place.”
We love the delicacy and simplicity of the design - elegant but still quirky.

Is Facebook on the way out?
Last month, nearly 6 million people in the U.S. deleted their Facebook accounts, bringing the total number of active users in the United States from 155.2 million to 149.4 million.
Canada also lost 1.52 million users, and the U.K., Norway, and Russia lost over 100,000 users each.
Here’s what tracking service Inside Facebook’s Eric Eldon had to say about the drop:
“By the time...

Freelance ain't Free
In the design world, we so often get clients pushing for better (cheaper) prices. I like to believe this is because they don’t understand the work, skill and time that goes into what we do, rather than a disregard for our training and talents, but there you have it.
Students and freelancers have it even worse and are often viewed as “free labour” which is why it’s so great...
Yorokobu Magazine by Vicente García Morillo
In Vinvente’s own words:
“The briefing for this project was to create something related to the word YOROKOBU which in Japanese means “to be happy”.
This piece has been designed using pencil and lipstick. The only digital work used was in putting together the final composition elements. The techniques used help to create a product which is spontaneous and original. A return back...
